Located in Chanyanya, Lusaka, the farm was developed in 2022. Total area farmed consists of 2330ha of which 1550Ha is irrigated by centre pivot. The crops are primarily wheat and maize with 20ha sugar seed cane and 15ha bananas. There is an expansion potential of a further 200ha of irrigated land.

The irrigation water is pumped from the Kafue River through a large 1200mm steel pipe and five cutback canals.

The perimeter of the Properties is fenced with bonnox style fencing. The internal road network is well maintained and consists of roads to all pivots and along the perimeter.

The irrigation on the farm is automated. The centre pivot panels are programable, and the pumping is managed by variable speed drives. The system is kept pressurized automatically and the pivots activate as per the set programs. Some pivots have aqua check moisture probes to assist with the irrigation management. All pivots are fitted with anti-cable theft units communicating to a central security room on the farm preventing tampering with the pivot's equipment.

The bulk water infrastructure is partly owned by public entities through the funding that was granted to the Zambian Government (GRZ) by the Dutch Government and the Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG). This public infrastructure of canals and pipes traverses 10km of community land. It is the intention to use this infrastructure to uplift and positively impact the communities in close proximity to the canals by developing their land into productive irrigated agricultural land amounting to roughly 6000 ha in total.

The existing pumps, motors, and electrical hardware installed in the public infrastructure belong to this farming Company. The project aims to establish a sugar estate incorporating smallholder and community growers.

The current water permit allows an extraction of 150,000m3 per day, issued on December 2017 and is valid until 2027 and as is the case with all water permits in Zambia it is renewable. The farm has an allocation of 73.1% amounting to 109,650 m3 per day.

The bulk water supply infrastructure from the river to the properties covers approximately 17km long stretch of land with an average static head of 40m.

delivery is fully automated and the flows, canal levels, and pressure are measured, posted online, and used for the automation process management. This information is always available online for management purposes.

This farm is potentially one of the most valuable farms in Zambia at the moment. It is 18km from Lusaka and has fantastic access to market, produce a great income, unbelievable water, and with the expansion of Lusaka would be a fantastic land bank hedge.

Lusaka has few places left in which to expand, with Lusaka South (Bonaventure) being one of the areas where the city can expand into. Only 10km away from these farms land is selling for US$100k per ha. Within the next 10 years it is quite likely that land will be worth the same in this farming area.
